Virginia calvary Volunteers; Copy with Sheryl Ann Dunkle, Auberry, Calif.; Know
ye that Heary Dunkle a private of captain James A. Vemplely company, second
calvary volunteers who was enrolled on the eleventh cay of september one
thousand eight hundred and sixty one to serve three years or during the war, is
whereby discharged from the service of the united states this seventh day of
december, 1864, at Whiding, West Virginia by reason of expiration of term of
enlistment.(no objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist) Said Henry
Dunkle was born in Benton County in the state of ohio, thenty three years of
age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair, and by
occupation, when enrolled, a farmer. Given at Whiding, West Virigina this
second day of December 1864. Signed Henry Beck
