Tack Branding Iron?

The item on the left believed to be a branding Iron used to mark tack, was found in the 1970's in lower Yokohl Valley just north of Badger Hill. It possibly belonged to John Albert Kirkman, b. 04 Mar 1856, as he owned the first livery stable in Exeter, CA.  The stable was located on North Filbert St. north of Pine St.

Mustache Cup

The Mustache Cup on the right belonged to my great grandfather Charles Lincoln Kirkman.
